Thoughts on Friends....

The wonderful thing about true friends is that no matter what life throws at you, they are always there with you to take the punches....and they understand when you want to go it alone. They operate in and out of season, and allow you to be true to you.

Life Lessons Learned

Nothing in life really surprises me anymore. Once you've had some trials come about, you learn to roll with the punches, as the saying goes. This happens for two reasons. First, life is 10% what happens, and 90% of how we react to it. This ultimately means that the decision ultimately rests with us as to how we choose to react to life's punches. We can choose to react positively or negatively, but that is the only choice we have in the matter. Second, events don't change, people do. When something happens, it simply is what it is. Take it for what it's worth and move forward.

Of course, this is easier said than done. The fact of the matter remains, at times, while we would like to move from one event to the next, we ten dto get caught up in life's hang-ups and road blocks along the way.

In my time of reflection, I have found the aforementioned to be true, along with the following: ultimately you are the one who has to live with you. You can't live for, nor can you please everybody else. It only makes you miserable in the process. If you are miserable alone, how can anyone hope to make you happy or vice-versa? Just some food for thought...

New Beginnings....

Its funny...we all hear the saying "when one door closes, another opens..." However, I wonder if many of us have truly experienced that event? Are we really calm in the face of adversity and change? What could we do to prepare?

Throughout my own life, I have experienced some MAJOR changes, or what I thought was MAJOR at the time. Once I went through the event and had a chance to reflect on the events at hand, I found that IT WASN'T THAT SERIOUS....to that end, I admonish you to do the same. Evaluate the changes, and ask yourself...is it that serious? The answer is probably no....embrace your new beginning, and move forward in all that God has for you...you never know what is lurking around the corner...
